Galaxy S24 Lineup Specs Leaked, and Yup, There’s Titanium https://prizescores.com/galaxy-s24-lineup-specs-leaked-and-yup-theres-titanium/ https://prizescores.com/galaxy-s24-lineup-specs-leaked-and-yup-theres-titanium/#respond Wed, 27 Dec 2023 11:16:09 +0000 https://prizescores.com/?p=70794 When I think iPhone 15 Pro, I can’t help but think of titanium. It’s the only thing they seem to market on the device. Looking over a leaked spec sheet for the entire family of upcoming Galaxy S24 devices, I instantly noticed the element getting a shoutout. While obviously the only thing that truly matters, let’s see what else may be new, shall we?

Thanks to @evleaks, who posted a graphic containing all of the important specs you want to know, we can start planning for which device we want. To choose from there’s the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra. Comparing to last year’s models, Galaxy S24 and S24+ are getting what appear to be slightly larger displays and batteries. While that’s pretty typical, the peak brightness of these displays is listed to be insanely different. Last year, the peak brightness on the entire lineup was 1,750 nits. This year, it’s shown to be 2,600. That’s a massive improvement.

Beyond that, most of everything else looks the same, at least when on paper. For example, the Galaxy S23 Ultra and S24 Ultra are shown to have 200MP camera sensors, but we know that it should be an upgraded experience thanks to Samsung’s recent announcement of ISOCELL Zoom Anyplace. Same numbers, better experience. We also know there will be new software experiences, like Galaxy AI.

Back to the frame material, the Galaxy S24 Ultra is shown to be the only one getting the titanium treatment. The Galaxy S24 and S24+ are getting Armor Aluminum 2.0, which sounds fancy enough. I’m sure we’ll be learning about that at Samsung’s Unpacked event next month.

Unpacked is reported to be on January 17. That’s very soon!

Meet Big Bud: The World's Largest Tractor https://prizescores.com/meet-big-bud-the-worlds-largest-tractor/ https://prizescores.com/meet-big-bud-the-worlds-largest-tractor/#respond Wed, 27 Dec 2023 11:14:10 +0000 https://prizescores.com/?p=70791

While Big Bud’s deep-ripping days may be over, the iconic line of tractors made a comeback in 2023. At Con Expo, a popular construction trade event, Big Equipment Company and Rome Agriculture Equipment announced the return of a new Big Bud tractor. Before you get too excited, know that they won’t be as big as the iconic Big Bud 747.

According to Western Ag Network, the new Big Bud tractors weigh a measly 70,000 pounds, with only 640-750 horsepower. Compared to the 747, these are rookie numbers, but in the overall tractor industry, the new Big Buds will be a go-to for any farmer needing an oversized vehicle. Remember, the Big Bud 747 was an anomaly. It’s a custom build that made it the world’s largest tractor but originated from the Big Bud line of farming vehicles. In the 70s and 80s, over 500 Big Buds hit the market and quickly became popular among farmers. While they haven’t been in production since 1991, the Big Bud tractors will be the first new line for the brand in over 40 years.

Rome and Big Equipment unveiled the new Big Bud tractors at Con Expo 2023, and Western Ag’s YouTube video lets you experience it and all its massive glory. The biggest draw? Farmers can repair their vehicles from the comfort of their farms. The original Big Buds, while popular, quickly ran into repair issues. With this new line, Big Equipment stressed the importance of allowing farmers to repair their vehicles no matter how far out in farm country they are.

Apple’s iPhone design chief jumps ship to work with Jony Ive https://prizescores.com/apples-iphone-design-chief-jumps-ship-to-work-with-jony-ive/ https://prizescores.com/apples-iphone-design-chief-jumps-ship-to-work-with-jony-ive/#respond Wed, 27 Dec 2023 11:12:06 +0000 https://prizescores.com/?p=70788

Apple’s iPhone and Watch design chief is leaving the company to work with Jony Ive, the man who led Apple’s design decisions until 2019 and who was key in creating the look of some of its most iconic products.

Tang Tan, who joined Apple a decade ago, is heading to the LoveFrom, the design firm set up by Ive after departing the tech giant four years ago, according to Apple tipster and Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman.

Citing people familiar with the matter, Gurman said that Tan will lead hardware engineering for a new project set up by Ive and Sam Altman, the AI visionary who co-founded and now heads ChatGPT creator OpenAI.

The Ive/Altman-led venture made headlines in September, with the pair reported at the time to be in talks about creating a product dubbed “the iPhone of artificial intelligence.”

There’s been no public announcement about the ambitious-sounding endeavor, but the news of Tan’s reported move to LoveFrom to help with the venture suggests that it’s still very much moving forward.

According to Gurman, Tan will “shape the look and capabilities of the new products,” but he added that the first products — apparently for the home — remain at an early development stage, with the current focus on building a team that will create concepts.

Gurman notes how Tan’s exit marks a further disintegration of the design team that Ive built at Apple, with more than a dozen members having left since Ive’s departure and only about six remaining in post. It’s reported that more than 20 personnel have moved from Apple to Ive’s LoveFrom.

With a team in place and Ive joining forces with Altman, 2024 will hopefully be the year in which the endeavor drops some big news about its ambitions or even reveals its first product. Other firms are already showcasing phone-replacement devices with AI at their core, so Ive and his crew won’t want to leave it too long before unveiling something themselves.

As for who will take over from Tan at Apple, reports suggest that rather than bringing in a replacement, his duties have been divided up among existing personnel.

These Milwaukee Packout Add-Ons Will Help Liven Up Any Workspace https://prizescores.com/these-milwaukee-packout-add-ons-will-help-liven-up-any-workspace/ https://prizescores.com/these-milwaukee-packout-add-ons-will-help-liven-up-any-workspace/#respond Wed, 27 Dec 2023 11:10:06 +0000 https://prizescores.com/?p=70785

While Milwaukee makes quite a few items that can help you bring a little style and comfort to your workstation, there are probably a few things you’d like to bring that aren’t part of its modular system. Luckily, Milwaukee thought of this, too. There is a wide variety of hardshell bins, structured bags, and totes available that are all part of the Packout modular system. These can be used for any non-tool-specific items that you want to bring with you. Many still have more tool-oriented designs, but they also make a backpack for a more casual storage option.

The Milwaukee backpack isn’t like ordinary school bags, however. It’s made of tear-resistant basketweave 1680D ballistic nylon with all metal hardware and has an impact-resistant polymer base. There are 48 pockets for tools, but it also has a hardshell-protected electronics pocket in case you’d like to bring a laptop or tablet. This is an excellent way to transport a screen if you like watching TV or playing games on your break.

Of course, the biggest benefit of a backpack is its easy mobility. You can attach it to your Packout workstation for rolling out and setting up at a primary location, and then throw whatever you need in the bag and carry it wherever your legs can take you.
